Surrey, B.C. – A South Surrey residence has been targeted for the second time in less than a week in what investigators confirm is an extortion-related shooting.
At approximately 7:35 p.m., Surrey RCMP’s Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit (SPOSU) responded to multiple reports of shots fired at a home in the 17000 block of 32 Avenue. Officers arrived to find evidence of gunfire at the scene. Fortunately, no injuries were reported in this latest incident.
The same residence was struck last Saturday, when one person was reportedly injured. Police say both shootings are connected to ongoing extortion-related violence in the region.

Due to the investigation, 32 Avenue between 168 Street and 176 Street remains closed to traffic as officers process the scene and canvass for witnesses and surveillance footage.
According to RCMP, as of November 10th, Surrey police have opened 94 extortion files this year, 43 of which involved shots being fired. Authorities have also noted a concerning rise in recent weeks, with 13 new extortion cases reported so far this month alone.
Police are urging anyone with information or dashcam footage from the area to contact Surrey RCMP or Crime Stoppers anonymously.
