White Rock, B.C. – Interim repair work on the iconic White Rock Pier is now underway, with construction expected to continue until mid-June 2026.
The City has confirmed that repairs began on May 4 following a conditional structural assessment completed last year. Crews are focusing on reinforcing key components of the pier to improve safety and extend its lifespan.
Work will take place Monday through Friday between 7 a.m. and 5 p.m., using hand tools and small equipment. The project includes installing steel jackets, pile wraps, and corbels to strengthen deteriorating sections and restore structural integrity.
Despite the construction, the pier will remain open to the public. However, visitors should expect temporary closures in short sections of the walkway as crews carry out repairs to ensure safety.
The project is being carried out in consultation with the Semiahmoo First Nation, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, and the Ministry of Water, Land, and Resource Stewardship.
