Saving the average family about $1800 annually.
Toronto, ON – Conservative leader Pierre Poilievre has promised a 15% income tax cut for the average Canadian, saying it will provide much-needed relief for workers and seniors. The pledge was made in a campaign video released today and posted on X (formerly Twitter), as Poilievre intensifies his push ahead of the April 28 federal election.
According to Poilievre, the proposed tax cut would save an average family nearly $2,000 per year. “You earned it. Bring it home—for a change,” he said in the video, emphasizing his commitment to making life more affordable for Canadians.
The announcement comes just a day after a large rally in Toronto, where Poilievre claimed 2,500 supporters gathered to back his vision to “restore the promise of Canada.” The event highlighted key Conservative campaign themes, including affordability, lower taxes, and economic stability.
With just over a month until election day, Poilievre is positioning himself as the alternative to Prime Minister Mark Carney, who is leading the Liberal campaign. As the race heats up, tax cuts and cost-of-living concerns are shaping up to be central issues in the campaign.
