New Westminster – The New Westminster Police Department is appealing to the public for assistance in locating a missing Punjabi man named Nishan, who was last seen over a week ago.
According to authorities, Nishan was last spotted on June 26 at approximately 4:00 p.m. in the Queensborough neighbourhood of New Westminster. He is described as a 28-year-old South Asian male, standing 5 feet 6 inches tall, and weighing around 145 pounds.
At the time of his disappearance, Nishan was wearing a navy blue turban, a black and white letterman-style jacket, a white t-shirt, and was carrying a backpack. Police believe he may be using public transit.
“We are asking the public to help us locate Nishan,” said Sergeant Andrew Leaver of the New Westminster Police Department. “As you move through the region this weekend, we ask that you keep an eye out for him.”
Anyone who sees Nishan is urged to call 9-1-1 immediately and not to delay in reporting the sighting.
Police continue to investigate and follow all possible leads. They are encouraging residents across the Lower Mainland to stay alert and share any information that could assist in locating Nishan.
