New Delhi – The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) India has barred BLS International Services Ltd from participating in any future tenders issued by Indian Missions and Posts abroad for the next two years. The order, issued on Friday, prevents BLS from bidding for new projects with Indian embassies, consulates, and diplomatic offices around the world.
The MEA’s decision reportedly stems from certain court cases and complaints lodged by applicants regarding the company’s services. Following the announcement, shares of BLS International Services fell sharply by 18%, reflecting investor concern over the ban’s potential impact on the company’s business operations.
In a statement, BLS International said it is evaluating legal options to challenge the MEA’s order. The company added that it will continue its global outsourcing and technology services operations despite the restriction.
BLS International Services Ltd is a third-party outsourcing firm that manages passport, visa, and consular services on behalf of the MEA and other government organizations in various countries.
