Burnaby,BC- A 28-year-old man is dead following a targeted shooting in Burnaby on January 22, 2026. Burnaby RCMP responded to reports of shots fired near the 3700 block of Canada Way just before 5:30 p.m., where officers located a male victim who later died despite life-saving efforts.
Shortly after the shooting, police found a vehicle burning in the 5000 block of Buxton Street, which investigators have confirmed is connected to the homicide. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken over the case and identified the victim as Dilraj Singh Gill of Vancouver. Police say Mr. Gill was known to them and the shooting appears to be linked to the B.C. gang conflict. The investigation remains ongoing.
