GNDU Vice-Chancellor Faces Akal Takht Over Briefing to RSS Chief

August 25, 2025 7:27am

Amritsar: ( Surrey News Report) Guru Nanak Dev University (GNDU) Vice-Chancellor Dr. Karamjeet Singh on Monday appeared before Sri Akal Takht Sahib for the first time after receiving summons over complaints regarding his reported interaction with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat. The complaints allege that Dr. Singh briefed Bhagwat on research activities related to Sikh studies being undertaken at the university.

Sources said the appearance was in response to concerns raised by various Sikh organizations, which questioned the appropriateness of sharing details of Sikh-related research with leaders of the RSS. The Akal Takht is expected to review the matter further before issuing a formal directive.
