New Delhi — International travelers arriving at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGI) in Delhi will now benefit from a faster, paperless immigration process. Starting October 1, 2025, Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL), led by GMR Aero, will launch an E-Arrival Card facility in collaboration with India’s Bureau of Immigration.
The new system allows foreign passengers to fill out and submit their arrival information digitally — up to three days before travel — through secure online platforms. These include the Bureau of Immigration’s portal (boi.gov.in), the Indian Visa website (indianvisaonline.gov.in), the Su-Swagatam mobile app, and the Delhi Airport website (newdelhiairport.in).
By eliminating paper-based arrival cards at the airport, the move is expected to reduce queues, shorten clearance times, and support sustainability goals through reduced paper usage. Similar systems are already in place at airports in Thailand, Indonesia, Singapore, South Korea, and Malaysia.
Videh Kumar Jaipuriar, CEO of DIAL, said:
“We are delighted to join hands with the Bureau of Immigration to launch the E-Arrival Card facility for international passengers. This initiative reflects the Government of India’s commitment to delivering a world-class, hassle-free travel experience while promoting sustainable practices.”
For Canadian travellers heading to India, the E-Arrival Card means smoother entry procedures and an improved travel experience at one of the world’s busiest airports.
