Chandigarh- In a major late-night development, Panjab University has officially postponed all examinations scheduled for November 26 at its PU-campus centres CHD40, CHD41, CHD43 and CHD44. These exams had earlier been relocated to DAV College, Sector 10, but will now stand postponed, according to a fresh press release (No. 18971/C, dated November 25) issued by the Controller of Examinations. New dates will be announced soon.
This announcement comes shortly after the university declared November 26 a holiday in view of the bandh call.
Importantly, the university has clarified that all examinations in affiliated and constituent colleges will proceed as per the original schedule, with no changes.
The decision follows growing tensions on campus, as students staged protests and blocked Gate No. 2, demanding overdue announcements, including the long-pending schedule for the Panjab University Senate elections. The agitation under the Panjab University Bachao Morcha has now entered its 25th consecutive day, reflecting mounting frustration over administrative delays.
University authorities are yet to indicate when the revised exam dates or the Senate election timetable will be released.
