Vancouver, British Columbia – November 3, 2025 – The Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) has announced a major narcotics seizure at Vancouver International Airport, marking one of the largest drug interceptions destined for export in the agency’s history.
On September 3, 2025, CBSA Border Services Officers intercepted a shipment of car parts bound for Australia and discovered a total of 560 kilograms of illicit drugs concealed within the cargo. The seizure included 300 compressed powder bricks containing 319 kilograms of cocaine and 110 vacuum-sealed packages containing 241 kilograms of methamphetamine.
The drugs were transferred to the RCMP, and an investigation into the smuggling operation remains ongoing.
“This seizure represents millions of dollars kept out of the hands of criminals and demonstrates the strength in collaboration with our law enforcement partners,” said Nina Patel, Regional Director General for the CBSA Pacific Region. “CBSA officers work around the clock to disrupt organized crime and prevent dangerous drugs from crossing our borders.”
The CBSA emphasized that the interception highlights its continued commitment to border security and the fight against organized crime in Canada and abroad.
