Ottawa- Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada announced on March 27, 2026, that permanent residence application fees will increase effective April 30, 2026, as part of efforts to maintain timely and reliable services while keeping pace with inflation.
Under the updated fee structure, the Right of Permanent Residence Fee will rise by $25, increasing from $575 to $600. Applicants under the Provincial Nominee Program will see a $40 increase, with fees going from $950 to $990. Business immigration applicants will face an $85 hike, bringing fees from $1,810 to $1,895.
Family class sponsorship fees will increase by $25, from $545 to $570. Fees for protected persons, as well as applicants under humanitarian and compassionate grounds or public policy measures, will each rise by $25, moving from $635 to $660. Permit holders will see a smaller increase of $15, with fees going from $375 to $390.
The fee adjustments are in line with the Immigration and Refugee Protection Regulations, which mandate a review every two years to help offset program costs and address growing demand. Authorities note that all applications received on or after April 30, 2026, will be subject to the revised fee structure.
