
October 13, 2025 – New Delhi, India -Canada’s Foreign Affairs Minister Anita Anand and India’s Minister of External Affairs Dr. S. Jaishankar have announced a new roadmap to strengthen ties between the two countries during Minister Anand’s official visit to India from October 12 to 14.
The meeting follows recent efforts by both governments to rebuild relations, including the reinstatement of High Commissioners and a series of high-level security and diplomatic meetings. The Ministers reaffirmed their commitment to a respectful and balanced partnership based on shared democratic values, economic cooperation, and strong people-to-people ties.
Both sides agreed to boost trade and investment, resume the Canada–India CEO Forum in early 2026, and deepen collaboration in clean energy, climate action, and technology. Initiatives include joint efforts on renewable energy, critical minerals, and artificial intelligence.
They also pledged to enhance cooperation in agriculture, education, and research, emphasizing sustainability, innovation, and academic exchange.
The Ministers said the renewed partnership will help strengthen economic resilience, improve supply chains, and promote stability amid global challenges.
