Abbotsford,- BC Abbotsford Police Department says a 22-year-old man charged in connection with a December 2025 shooting at a business in Abbotsford is now facing several additional extortion and firearms-related offences following an ongoing investigation.
Police say frontline officers responded to reports of a shooting on the evening of December 17, 2025, at a business located in the 31000 block of King Road. A suspect vehicle was located a short time later, and 22-year-old Gursewak Singh was arrested and initially charged with unlawfully discharging a firearm.
In the months that followed, detectives with AbbyPD’s Internal Extortion Task Force, operating under Operation Community Shield, continued advancing the investigation. As a result, Singh has now been charged with extortion using a firearm, possession of a loaded prohibited firearm, possession of a firearm without a licence, possession of a firearm knowing it was unauthorized, and occupying a vehicle knowing a firearm was present.
Investigators say Abbotsford police worked closely with Surrey Police Service during the investigation, sharing evidence obtained during Singh’s arrest to support two separate Surrey investigations. SPS has also announced additional charges against Singh in connection with those cases.
The investigation remains connected to Abbotsford Police file 2025-54195.
