Woman Injured in Early-Morning Targeted Shooting in Surrey City Centre

SURREY, B.C. — A woman suffered non-life-threatening injuries in an early-morning shooting in Surrey’s City Centre on Tuesday, prompting an investigation by the Surrey Police Service’s Major Crime Section.

Police said Frontline officers responded to reports of a shooting near 106 Avenue and 135A Street at approximately 3:44 a.m. on July 28, 2026. When officers arrived, they located an injured woman with minor injuries and found evidence that shots had been fired. The suspect had fled the scene before police arrived.

Investigators believe the shooting was targeted and have stated that it is not related to extortion.

The Surrey Police Service’s Major Crime Section has assumed conduct of the investigation, while the Integrated Forensic Identification Services (IFIS) is processing the scene for physical and digital evidence.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or has information, including CCTV or dashcam footage, to contact the Surrey Police Service at 604-599-0502. Anonymous tips can also be provided through Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online at www.solvecrime.ca. Investigators ask that anyone contacting police quote file 26-78965 (SP).
