SURREY, B.C. — Two men have been charged with firearms offences following a Surrey Police Service (SPS) investigation into a shots-fired incident outside a home in Surrey earlier this month.

Police say frontline officers responded shortly after 6:00 a.m. on June 11 to reports that gunshots had been fired approximately 30 minutes earlier outside a residence near 96 Avenue and 133A Street. Investigators confirmed the home had been struck by gunfire while occupied, but no injuries were reported.

The investigation was taken over by the Surrey Police Service Extortion Response Team (ExRT), with assistance from Project Assurance, frontline officers, and the Major Crime Section.

On June 12, investigators executed search warrants at two Surrey residences with support from the Lower Mainland District Emergency Response Team (LMD ERT), the Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA), and other SPS units. Four men were arrested during the operation.

Police have now charged:

* Arman Singh, 21, with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm.

* Simarjeet Singh, 22, with one count of reckless discharge of a firearm.

Both men remain in custody and are scheduled to appear in court on June 29, 2026.

According to SPS, both accused are foreign nationals, and the CBSA has been engaged. The other two men arrested have not been criminally charged and remain in CBSA custody.

SPS has also released photographs of Arman Singh and Simarjeet Singh, saying the disclosure is necessary to advance ongoing investigations into violent extortion-related offences. Police are hoping additional witnesses, victims, or associates will come forward with information about the suspects or potential criminal networks linked to violent extortion.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey Police Service non-emergency line at 604-599-0502 or the Surrey Extortion Tip Line at 236-485-5149.
