Abbotsford, B.C. – A single-vehicle crash is causing significant traffic disruptions on Sumas Way in Abbotsford.
According to the Abbotsford Police Department, officers are responding to a collision on Sumas Way between Marshall Road and South Fraser Way. Preliminary information indicates that a truck left the roadway, struck a light standard, and came to rest on a retaining wall.
The driver was transported to hospital. The extent of the driver’s injuries has not been released.
As police continue their investigation, northbound Sumas Way has been reduced to a single lane between Marshall Road and South Fraser Way. Motorists should expect heavy congestion and significant delays in the area and are advised to use alternate routes whenever possible.
The cause of the collision remains under investigation.
