Surrey, BC – The Surrey RCMP is inviting local residents and youth to participate in the Citizen and Youth Police Academy, a nine-week course designed to provide an in-depth look into the world of policing. This interactive learning series aims to foster a stronger understanding between the citizens of Surrey and the RCMP, while exploring collaborative efforts to enhance public safety.
The academy will run from September 18 to November 13, 2024, with sessions held every Wednesday evening from 6:30 to 9:30 pm at the Surrey RCMP Main Detachment.
Participants will engage in a variety of presentations and demonstrations led by police officers and staff. The topics covered include:

– Drugs and major crime investigations
– Forensic science
– Mental health and addiction issues
– Police Dog Services
