Calgary- Representing Surrey at the Big City Mayors’ Caucus in Calgary this week, Mayor Brenda Locke highlighted the critical impact of inadequate infrastructure investment. “I’ve seen firsthand the effects of congested roads, insufficient public transportation, and a lack of affordable housing options,” she stated.

The Federation of Canadian Municipalities’ proposed Municipal Growth Framework is essential for addressing these issues. A collaborative approach is needed, one that recognizes the role of municipalities in building and maintaining public infrastructure and provides the necessary resources.

Mayor Locke calls on provincial and federal counterparts to collaborate in creating a Municipal Growth Framework that places municipalities at the forefront of building Canada’s future.
