Surrey-This month, 14-year-old Ceola Sita Kaur Kelly, a Sikh female from Richmond, BC, clinched the title of Canada’s Greco-Roman wrestling champion in the 42kg division. Alongside gold in Greco-Roman, she secured silver in freestyle and holds the provincial champion title. Her father attributes her success to the warrior ethic instilled by Sikhi, enabling her to compete against girls up to 18 years old. He hopes her achievements inspire other Sikh girls to pursue combat sports.
