Ottawa- Canada’s Minister of International Trade, Maninder Sidhu, says the federal government is moving ahead with its pledge to speed up the construction of major nation-building projects, including new ports, mines, and energy developments.
Sidhu said the government is focused on clearing the path for large-scale infrastructure that will create jobs and strengthen Canada’s long-term economic position.
“Your new government made a promise to get new ports, mines, and energy projects built faster. These are major nation-building projects, and we’re delivering on that promise,” Sidhu stated.
During his recent trip to India, the minister met with representatives of Canadian pension funds to explore how their international networks can help attract record levels of investment back into Canada.
“I sat down with Canadian pension funds in India to discuss how we can build on their networks to attract record investment to Canada for major projects that will be built by thousands of skilled Canadian workers,” Sidhu said.
The government says these efforts are part of a broader push to accelerate economic growth, secure large investments, and support Canadian workers across multiple sectors.
