Surrey, BC – Puneet Sandhar has announced her decision to step forward as a candidate in the upcoming provincial election to champion a new direction for British Columbia, aimed at ensuring a stronger future for the province’s children. However, in a heartfelt message, Sandhar has also revealed her decision to withdraw from the race due to the recent passing out of her father- in-law.
Sdr. Gursewak Singh Sandhar aged 75 (father of Jatinder Singh Sandhar) was peacefully passed away on June 5,2024.
In her announcement, Sandhar expressed deep gratitude to her supporters and extended best wishes to Kevin Falcon and her colleagues at BC United as they continue their efforts to build a better BC. “While I am committed to bringing about this renewal in our province, the recent passing of a close family member has led me to make the difficult decision to withdraw my candidacy as the BC United candidate for Surrey-Serpentine River,” she posted on ‘X’ (formerly known as Twitter).
Sandhar’s decision comes as a poignant reminder of the personal sacrifices and challenges faced by those in public service. Her commitment to public service and her vision for a stronger future for British Columbia remain clear, even as she steps back to focus on family during this difficult time.
