Surrey,BC -The Panthers Youth Field Hockey Tournament, an annual sporting event in Surrey, BC since 2010, will be held from June 28 to June 30, 2024, at Tamanawis Park. This event, organized by the non-profit Panthers Field Hockey Club, offers a blend of fun, sport, and cultural activities, engaging participants, officials, and spectators alike.
“Our mission is to promote and facilitate opportunities for youth to nurture them into good citizens and foster interest in sports and volunteer activities,” said Harjinder Singh, President of Panthers Field Hockey Club. The club, run by volunteer staff and coaches, has successfully organized the tournament for the past three years with strong support from sponsors, community volunteers, and team participants.
The tournament aims to involve youth from across the Vancouver Lower Mainland in a unique sporting and cultural experience, keep youth engaged in positive activities, and promote a healthy lifestyle. This year, junior hockey teams from Mexico and Chile will be the main attractions.
Local businesses have also supported the event financially, contributing to its success. The tournament is a free event, with parking available, and all are invited to attend.
