Markham, Ontario — Honda Canada has announced a voluntary recall of 6,632 Honda Accord Hybrid vehicles from model years 2023, 2024, and 2025 due to a software programming issue that could lead to a sudden loss of power.
According to details posted on the CFIA website, the integrated control module in affected vehicles may reset under certain driving conditions. If this occurs, the vehicle could unexpectedly lose power to the wheels.
Safety Risk:
A sudden loss of propulsion increases the risk of a collision or injury, particularly in fast-moving or congested traffic.
Corrective Actions:
Authorized Honda dealerships will update the integrated control module software to correct the problem. Honda will notify impacted owners by mail with instructions to bring their vehicles in for service.
Honda Canada confirmed that no collisions or injuries related to this software issue have been reported to date.
Owners of affected models are encouraged to schedule the repair promptly once they receive the official notice.
