Vancouver: An outage in Microsoft’s software disrupted operations in multiple industries from airlines and broadcasters to banking and healthcare.
According to information, global cybersecurity organisation Crowdstrike had sent an alert to its clients. As per the alert, company’s Falcon sensor software caused Windows to crash and displayed a blue screen, which is known as “blue screen of death”.
Due to the issue, Windows servers were crashed, affecting multiple industries all over the world.
“CrowdStrike is actively working with customers impacted by a defect found in a single content update for Windows hosts,” company CEO George Kurtz said on social media. “Mac and Linux hosts are not impacted. This is not a security incident or cyberattack. The issue has been identified, isolated and a fix has been deployed.”
The outage impacted Microsoft 365 apps and services. Microsoft said on Friday that the issue has been resolved.
