Ottawa- The Government of Canada is urging travellers to exercise caution in India following a car explosion near a metro station in New Delhi, close to the Red Fort. The incident has prompted the Government of India to place several states, including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, and Maharashtra, on high alert.

Canadians currently in India or planning to travel there are advised to closely monitor local media for updates on the evolving situation. Travellers should follow all instructions and guidance from local authorities, remain vigilant, and avoid popular tourist areas, which may be at increased risk.

The Government of Canada emphasizes the importance of staying aware of one’s surroundings at all times and taking steps to ensure personal safety while in the affected regions.
