Vancouver-Air Canada has implemented a new policy for basic fare passengers, offering complimentary automatic seat assignments at check-in for customers who do not pay to select their seats in advance. The change, which went into effect on January 21, also introduces a fee for those wishing to change their assigned seat.
“All Basic customers who wish to change their seat from the one automatically assigned at check-in will be required to pay for that change,” the airline announced in a notice.
This policy is part of Air Canada’s effort to streamline the boarding process while maintaining competitive pricing for its basic fare options.
