Surrey,BC- The Surrey Police Service (SPS) has concluded a four-month enforcement initiative targeting repeat offenders across Whalley, Newton, and South Surrey, resulting in 136 arrests and a significant seizure of weapons, drugs, and illicit proceeds.
The operation, carried out between November 2025 and February 2026, was funded through the Province’s Special Investigations and Targeted Enforcement (SITE) program. Police say the funding enabled intelligence-led patrols and focused deployments aimed at individuals contributing to ongoing criminal activity in the community.
SPS’s Crime Reduction Unit worked in partnership with several agencies, including Metro Vancouver Transit Police, Delta Police Department, Royal Canadian Mounted Police Air Services, the Lower Mainland District Integrated Police Dog Service, the Canada Border Services Agency, and the Organized Crime Retail Association.
According to police, the targeted enforcement led to 136 arrests, including 10 for breach of conditions, while 35 outstanding warrants were executed. Investigators also recommended 55 charges to the BC Prosecution Service as a result of the operation.
Authorities reported the seizure of 54 weapons, ranging from bear spray and edged weapons to brass knuckles, a baton, and a replica firearm. In addition, officers confiscated more than 360 grams of narcotics, including methamphetamine, cocaine, fentanyl, and oxycodone.
Police also recovered over $5,000 in cash along with more than $7,400 worth of stolen property believed to be proceeds of crime.
SPS says the initiative has had a direct impact on public safety and helped disrupt repeat offending patterns, contributing to safer neighbourhoods and improved quality of life for residents across Surrey.
