Surrey, BC – Two men are facing multiple charges after an investigation by the RCMP Surrey Provincial Operations Support Unit’s (SPOSU) Community Response Unit (CRU) led to their arrests and the recovery of significant amounts of stolen property.
The investigation began on December 3, 2024, when SPOSU’s CRU identified a Dodge Ram truck with counterfeit license plates involved in a series of criminal offenses. These included break-and-enters in West Vancouver, evading police in Langley, and the theft of tires in Surrey.
Working in collaboration with the Metro Vancouver Transit Police Crime Suppression Team and West Vancouver Police, officers identified a suspect and two associated residences in Surrey.
Two Search Warrants Executed in Surrey
On December 5, 2024, police executed simultaneous search warrants at two Surrey addresses.
At a residence in the 9400 block of 173A Street, police arrested a man driving a stolen Jeep Compass, which had a stolen license plate. During the search of the property, officers recovered:
• A Jeep Compass stolen from Chilliwack
• A Dodge Ram stolen in Maple Ridge and used in a West Vancouver break-and-enter
• Counterfeit BC license plates
• 277 grams of crystal methamphetamine
• Stolen tools and 24 stolen tires from a Surrey car dealership valued at $6,000
Eight other individuals found at the scene were detained and later released.
At a second residence in the 10200 block of 159A Street, the suspect linked to the Dodge Ram was arrested. Officers seized:
• A key for the stolen Dodge Ram
• A key ring of “bump” keys used to break locks
• A stolen Apple MacBook
• Fraudulent credit cards and documents
• Equipment used to forge documents
Collaborative Effort to Combat Crime
“By working collaboratively with our policing partners across the Lower Mainland, we were able to make arrests related to several alleged offenses from West Vancouver to Chilliwack,” said Staff Sergeant Nigel Pronger of RCMP SPOSU CRU. “We recovered and returned thousands of dollars worth of stolen property, including two vehicles, to their owners. We thank Metro Vancouver Transit Police and West Vancouver Police for their efforts in making all our communities safer.”
The investigation remains ongoing as police continue to identify and connect other crimes potentially linked to the suspects.
