
Surrey,BC- Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke is expressing deep sorrow following the tragic events in Tumbler Ridge that have shaken communities across British Columbia.
“My heart breaks for the families in Tumbler Ridge who are facing this unimaginable tragedy. This horrific event has shaken communities across British Columbia. On behalf of our city, I extend my deepest condolences to the victims, their families, and the entire community, and we stand in solidarity with them as they begin the long road to healing,” said Mayor Brenda Locke.
As a mark of respect and solidarity, Mayor Locke announced that flags at Surrey City Hall and all civic buildings will be lowered to half-mast to honour the victims and their loved ones.
The City of Surrey joins communities across the province in mourning and supporting those impacted during this difficult time.
