Surrey man charged with arson for fire in townhouse

Surrey: RCMP has charged a man in connection with an alleged arson incident at a townhouse in the 12700 block of 66 Avenue.

The RCMP, in a press release, said the suspect has been taken into custody.

The suspect has been identified as 22-year-old Amritpal Dhindsa, who has been charged with arson, assault with a weapon, uttering threats and possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose.

The RCMP said Dhindsa has been remanded until his next court appearance on May 3.
