Chandigarh- In Chandigarh, Bhagwant Mann, Chief Minister of Punjab, held a key meeting today with a high-level international delegation led by Bernard Malik, President of the Leaders Institute Australia, to discuss the establishment of a world-class international university in the state.
During the meeting, the delegation and state leadership held detailed discussions on developing a global-standard institution focused on advanced technology, information technology, agribusiness innovation, and global leadership education.
“Our government’s clear vision is to ensure that the youth of Punjab do not have to leave the state in search of quality education and career opportunities,” said Mann. “We want to build an ecosystem where foreign universities and multinational companies come to Punjab, giving our youth global exposure and opportunities within the state.”
Mann said the proposed university would serve as a major hub for cutting-edge research and innovation, helping to strengthen the region’s education sector while attracting international partnerships and investment.
The Chief Minister also welcomed other members of the delegation, including former Member of Parliament Mark Robinson, Chris Aiton, Director of the Favor Foundation, and Peter O’Callaghan, Partner at MSI Taylor Wealth Management.
According to Mann, the collaboration aims to strengthen Punjab’s higher-education ecosystem by connecting it with leading international institutions. He emphasized that the initiative would help address the issue of brain drain while promoting foreign investment and world-class educational infrastructure.
“This initiative will be a significant step toward empowering our youth and advancing our vision of a vibrant, progressive, and prosperous Punjab,” Mann added.
