Surrey, B.C. – In the wake of a recent shooting that targeted Kap’s Cafe, Surrey Mayor Brenda Locke visited the local business to offer support and reassurance to the owners and the community.
“Thankfully, no one was hurt, but incidents like this deeply affect the people and places at the heart of our community,” said Mayor Locke.
She was joined by staff from Surrey’s bylaw team and the Surrey Police Service, reaffirming the city’s commitment to public safety.
“I want to thank the owners for investing in our community,” Locke added. “It was heartening to see customers coming in, supporting the cafe, and standing with one another. Together, we are keeping Surrey safe and resilient.”
The visit highlighted the city’s focus on community solidarity in the face of violence and its ongoing efforts to ensure public safety across Surrey.
