The British Columbia Provincial Nominee Program (BC PNP) is undergoing significant revisions aimed at providing clearer pathways for international workers to settle in British Columbia. The updates include adjusting selection criteria to better assess education, experience, and language proficiency levels that lead to successful careers in the province. Additionally, the program will implement measures to safeguard international students from exploitative practices by introducing a new three-stream structure for graduates, raising language requirements, and maintaining priority for individuals in high-demand occupations that contribute to British Columbia’s economy.A minimum of Canadian Language Benchmark (CLB) 8 is currently planned for the new graduate streams These changes are intended to enhance outcomes and streamline the process for Canadian permanent residency nomination through the BC PNP. Students who complete diploma or certificate programs in Canada (who will not be eligible for these new graduate streams) can still qualify for other BC PNP streams.
