Surrey-One casualty is reported and part of Highway 99 in Surrey is closed to traffic following a crash early Thursday. RCMP report that shortly after 1:30 a.m., officers responded to a single-vehicle collision on Highway 99, north of King George Highway.
The woman in her 20s was declared dead at the scene. BC Emergency Health Services said five ambulances responded to the crash. Three patients were treated at the scene and two were taken to hospital.
As police investigate, traffic in the area will be affected for an undetermined amount of time. Northbound Highway 99 traffic is being diverted at King George Highway.
The public is requested to avoid the area until further notice.
