Los Angeles, California – Elon Musk announced a novel initiative on X to address connectivity issues in the greater Los Angeles and Malibu areas. Musk revealed that Tesla’s Cybertrucks, equipped with Starlink terminals, will be deployed in a grid pattern across the region to provide free WiFi in areas most in need of reliable internet access.
The move, designed to aid communities struggling with connectivity, includes enhanced features such as onboard security personnel and complimentary snacks and beverages for passersby. Musk shared a picture of a Cybertruck stocked with water bottles and snacks, demonstrating the project’s focus on community support.
“Apologies to those expecting Cybertruck deliveries in California over the next few days,” Musk added in his post. “We need to use those trucks as mobile base stations to provide power to Starlink Internet terminals in areas of LA without connectivity. A new truck will be delivered by the end of the week.”
This innovative use of Tesla’s all-electric truck highlights Musk’s commitment to leveraging Tesla and SpaceX technologies for public benefit, merging cutting-edge technology with real-time community support.
