
Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) workers will NOT be taking job action until at least Wednesday as negotiations continue. – Updated
Surrey- Canada Border Services Agency (CBSA) workers nationwide may initiate job action this afternoon if a deal is not reached by the strike deadline. Out of approximately 11,000 total CBSA workers, over 9,000 could participate. The union has set a deadline of 4 p.m. ET today, and if no agreement is reached by then, job action will commence immediately.
The Government of Canada and the Public Service Alliance of Canada began mediated negotiations on June 3 to renew the collective agreement for the Border Services Group.
If job action begins today afternoon, Commercial and consumer travellers could face significant delays at all points of entry to Canada.
